A gitsocial push from a checked-out feature branch breaks the published site. The site step treats the branch as the default branch and sets it as the site head. Expected: the site keeps the real default branch, and a push from a feature branch publishes no wrong head.

Fixed on main by 0d2b3a47: git.GetDefaultBranch returns only a verified local branch (origin's HEAD, else main or master, else empty), never the checkout, and the site step skips the head write instead of repointing the bucket at a missing branch.
